SPEECH

I was driving home from the gym today listening to the tape "Sucker or Sower" again because it was all I had in the car. The guy speaking quoted a scripture that I have heard many times but today I heard it again for the first time. I looked it up in the Amplified Version and this is what it said:

Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.
Ephesians 4:29

Wow....no speech unless it is "beneficial to the spiritual progress of others". How much silence would there be if we lived by this. OR

How encouraged would we be if we followed this verse. Imagine a place where edifying talk and encouragement were flowing and gossip, complaining, whining, foul language, etc. were non existant. Lets think about what we say and how it will effect others. After all we are our brothers keeper.

Who wanted to be homeschooled until she "tried out school".

Who looks great in a hat...even if she is told she doesn't?
Who used to open her Christmas presents before Christmas and rewrap them?
Who has a "thing" for guys in McDonald's hats?
Who should have her own "Dr. Phil" show for all those who want her counselling?
Who is loving, compassionate, giving, funny, and wise?
Who is a hoot and a half?


If you answered Emily to all these questions you are so right. There maybe now she will read my blog.

Marli's Blogspot

Ha Ha. Marli gave me her blogspot "address" and I checked it out this morning. I missed her address by one letter. Instead of the-joys-of-life, I put in the-joy-of-life. What I got was a blogspot with an attitude. This guy was complaining about life and doesn't like rich people. I didn't catch on until the second paragraph and I was thinking "Oh my, this is not good. I can't believe Marli wrote this". Anyway I was relieved to find out that it was not hers and was pleasantly surprised when I read her blog. Check it out....www.the-joys-of-life.blogspot.com

MY PARENTS

Marli and I just got back from a quick trip to PEI to visit my parents. They live in Montague where I attended high school. (It's always a trip back in time.....although Tim Hortons reminds me that life has changed forever from my days of wanderings those streets.)

My parents 83 and 77 are full of life. My dad still walking 6k a day and swimming 3x a week. Mom is also an exerciser. They were amazing parents and even more amazing as grandparents....ask my kids. If you go to Grace Harvest you get prayer on a weekly basis....more often if God or I tip Mom off that you could use it. They pray together every morning for their immediate family and a few others. Cool huh....probably why my life goes so smoothly...and maybe yours too.

Mom and Dad....you're the best.
