TRUTH

I have been thinking alot about truth lately. Why is it that we sometimes avoid the truth at all costs or avoid telling the truth. I guess because the truth can hurt...when on the receiving end or the giving end.

I preached Sunday and I used a scripture that, I think, is the most peculiar chapter in the Bible. I Kings 22. King Ahab does everything to avoid hearing the truth. Even though the truth would have saved him his life. He gathered people around him that would tell him what he wanted to hear......and rejected the one person who was telling him the truth.

I have had bad times in my life that could have been avoided if someone had loved me enough to tell me the truth. Then at times I have had people who have spoken truth into my life, and I have avoided many pitfalls.

Proverbs 28:23 He who rebukes a man, afterward finds more favour than he who flatters with the tongue.

Eph. 4:15 Speaking the truth in love, we will in All Things grow up into Him who is the head...that is Christ.

I guess if we love truth enough we will allow people to speak into our lives and love them all the more because they did.

One disclaimer.....We should only speak truth to those we truly love. If we don't love them then we will come across judgemental.......and that may be just what it is.

Well that is a summary of my message. You can receive a copy of the whole message for three easy payments of $29.99. Send cheque or money order.......haha just kidding.
